Hostels have been around for what feels like forever, but still many people tend to think of them as dirty, poor quality “noise houses” with bunk beds scattered all over. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Take Me Anywhere Travels is here to tell you that hostels are the way of the future!

Here’s 6 reasons to stay at a hostel on your next mystery holiday:

.

Reasons to stay at a hostel

  1. They’re cheap – The number one case for staying at a hostel is it’s price. Even the fancier hostels might cost hundreds of dollars less than the average hotel, while still providing most of the same amenities. There’s no hiding behind that we at Take Me Anywhere Travels recommends our travelers to stay at hostels. Not only does it make the entire trip so much cheaper, but the money you save can be used towards other great activities you otherwise couldn’t afford if you stayed in a hotel.

  2. The people – Whether you’re a solo traveler or a group that just wants to meet new like-minded people: hostels are for you! At a hostel you will find all sorts of characters and you’re bound to find someone with the same interests as you. Maybe they don’t have any plans and they can join yours to make your holiday more interesting, or maybe they can take you on adventures you could never expect. Heck, sometimes it’s just nice to come back to the hostel after a long day of exploring and talk to people. Some of the best memories we at Take Me Anywhere Travels have had is by befriending strangers at hostels and joining them for amazing adventures.
    .
  3. Special deals – You might have found the perfect travel itinerary, and know exactly where to get the cheapest deals for your activities, but your hostels might get it even cheaper. Tour operators  tends to make special deals with hostels to attract more customers. Sometimes you can find super deals only available at your hostel for a lot cheaper, or with exclusive addons like free pick-up and included lunch.
    .
  4. You can cook – Something you can’t really get at a hotel without paying quite a bit extra, is almost a given in a hostel: the kitchen. Sure you might want to clean the plates and cutlery before and after you use it, but think of the amount of money you save! In comparison to a hotel where you almost have to eat out every day, apart from instant noodles in the kettle, eating out now becomes a choice. You can save hundreds of dollars on making your own food, which can be used for more adventures or maybe when you do eat out you can actually go to that high end restaurant!
    .
  5. Private room – Some of the least appealing thing about sleeping in a hostel is the privacy concern. Sleeping in a room with 16 guys you’re bound to hear some snoring. However, most hostels have private rooms, sometimes with en-suite bathrooms. All this at a fraction of the cost of a regular hotel. You get all the benefits of a hostel without the snoring symphony!
    .
  6. Negotiate prices – Since the main guests at hostels tends to be backpackers the average length of stay isn’t that long. If you’re planning to stay in one area for longer, it might be smart to ask the hostel if they provide a lower price in exchange for you staying a couple days longer. This is one of the reasons Take Me Anywhere Travels manages to squeeze so many activities into even the tiniest budgets!

So there you go: maybe you’ll save a couple hundred bucks, join adventures you didn’t think was possible, or maybe meet your future wife. One thing we can guarantee is that your mystery trip will be one to remember! Why not try hostels on your next mystery holiday?
